The recent visits to Australia by Robert Theobalt in the last year or two has inspired me to become more involved in writing about economic and ecological issues facing modern societies and human beings bound up in the materialistic and secular world.

Here I try and simplify some basic concepts of ecology and sustainability and apply these concepts to personal and household ecology. This article is meant to help you explore options for reducing our daily metabolism and hence our ecological footpriint on this planet. Comments and ideas welcome.

Environmental Degradation - its relationship to unfettered economic Growth
An article inspired by Robert Theobalt's visit. The article sets out the present unsustainable economic framework that we have developed in Australia and the world, based on resource intensive and Greenhouse polluting industries and lifestyle modes. Australia is plodding in the footsteps of California with its current car-dominant culture. We have yet to integrate or invent new paradigms in our relationship to nature and the planet earth.
