Since
1977, I have been involved in the interpretation of floristic and vegetation
patterns in various parts of south-eastern Australia and Tasmania. Often
this work has been associated with fire ecology studies that I have undertaken
as part of fire management of large landscapes.
This page will be updated shortly with cross-references to each bullet point.
- List
of Vegetation Work and/or Studies
This is
a basic list of of vegetation mapping studies that I have been involved
with since becoming a professional fire manager and fire ecologist.
- Vegetation
Types of the Blue Mountains-Wollemi Region (west and north-west
of Sydney
This was a pioneering work which was undertaken in
1984/1985 to understand the vegetation patterns of the Blue Mountains
Wollemi Region. It was carried out before the advent of numerical
floristic classifications and has been since validated by more comprehensive
floristic surveys since then.
- Vegetation Map
of Yengo National Park
In 1992
and 1993 I coordinated the development of vegetation mapping and rare
and endangered species work in Yengo National Park and surrounds,
which is located between St Albans and the central Hunter Valley.
This study has been recommended as a template for fire and vegetation
work within the National Parks and Wildlife Service of NSW (NPWS of
NSW).
